if you've only heard chimamanda ngozi adichie's voice sandwiched beween beyonce's verses in the incredible hit, "flawless", then you are truly missing out. that snippet is just a small but delicious morsel of the full course meal chimamanda is serving up. her books are masterpieces, shedding light on what it means to be an immigrant, what it means to be a black woman, what it means to be Nigerian, what it means to be a feminist. her common sense speeches are compelling and informative. despite the almost deadpan delivery, it's hard not to feel liberated afterwards. she has written three novels so far, but if you're an adichie novice, may i suggest you begin with her short story collection 'the thing around my neck.' oh, and be sure to check out the movie based on her novel 'half of a yellow sun' starring thandie newton and chiwitel ejiofor. bottom line: she flawless!!!
